Frozen Pipes: How to Protect Your Home
1/17/2020 (Permalink)
It's that time of the year when the temperature drops and creates frozen pipes in your home. The water that is left in the pipes expands when the temperature reaches above freezing and can bust the pipes in your home. Before frozen pipes occur --there are ways to protect your home.
Check out these tips to keep your home free from water damage this winter season:
1. Keep the heat on (use precaution when using space heaters, but they help to prevent pipes from freezing)
2.Apply heating tape
3. Add extra insulation to your pipes
4. Keep your cabinets open with pipes exposed underneath
5. Allow the faucet to drip, because running water relieves pressure in the system.
