Storm Damage to my insulation, what do I do?
When storm damage occurs and it creates wet rooms in your home, there are a variety of factors that go into play. It is not just about having wet flooring or wet ceiling -- the walls and more importantly, what is inside those walls should be at top of mind.
Insulation comes in several different forms. From foam to cotton, to cellulose, and more: each type has to be treated in a different way after water damage has damaged it.
When we discover drywall/insulation is wet from water damage we will access what type, then we can tell homeowners if the insulation can be saved or if it needs to be torn out and new re-installed.
Often times it saves money and future damage to replace the insulation, and if it is contaminated insulation --it must come out.
