Our friends at FEMA (Federal Emergency Management Agency) have brought you tips on how to prepare for a flood or flooding in your area.
Before the Flood: Have a professional elevate the furnace, water heater, and electric panel.
During the Flood: Disconnect appliances, don’t walk through electrical equipment, and turn off the main switches on utilities.
After the Flood: Listen to the news to find out if water is safe to drink again, avoid standing water (as it can carry disease), and only return home when authorities have deemed it safe.
