Our winner Chad Smallwood State Farm!
Pumpkins, pumpkins, and more pumpkins. We had a huge turnout for this year’s SERVPRO Spooks It Forward county wide pumpkin decorating contest.
This year, SERVPRO® of Pulaski and Laurel Counties hosted another successful pumpkin decorating contest. From insurance offices, to realtors, to city officials: our pumpkin contest raised a lot of money and awareness for local charities in the community. The winner this year was from Chad Smallwood’s State Farm Office. Their pumpkin got over 300 Facebook likes surpassing the competition. SERVPRO® of Pulaski and Laurel Counties donated $200 to the Pulaski County Animal Shelter in honor of the winning office! The winners also got a Thanksgiving style lunch for their office. Thank you to everyone who participated, and we can’t wait to see all the pumpkins next year!

National Police Week Banner
SERVPRO® of Pulaski and Laurel Counties will be celebrating National Police Week with our hero’s in blue Monday, May 15, 2017 through Sunday, May 21, 2017. President John F. Kennedy declared May 15th as Peace Officers Memorial Day back in 1962. Since then, many local, state, and national events have been held to honor the men and women who protect and serve us all. Locally, we have several activities planned for our offices and there are several ways that you can give back too!
Here are a few ideas to celebrate with us and our nations law enforcement officers:
- Thank an officer. This is easy! If you see an officer just offer your thanks and support.
- Look for and support local police week events in your area.
- Wear blue on May 15th to show your pride and patronage for those lost in the line of duty.
Please join with us during National Police Week as we remember and honor these brave men and women and their many sacrifices.

SERVPRO Owner Graduates Small Business Development Class in Williamsburg, Kentucky
4/12/2016 (Permalink)
SERVPRO of Pulaski & Laurel Counties Co-Owner, Julie Roberts, earned recognition for continuing education in Small Business Leadership last month, by completing the Southeast Kentucky Economic Development’s Core Four Business Planning Course. The four week course, held in Williamsburg, Kentucky, focused on strategic planning for small businesses. With classes in Marketing Plan Development, Cash Flow, Operations Management, and Funding, the course helps local business owners like Roberts not only start new businesses, but develop existing ones. Roberts, together with her husband, Tony, have owned SERVPRO of Pulaski and Laurel Counties in London, Kentucky, for over 10 years now. They also own additional locations in the Berea/Richmond area, and the Pikeville/Prestonsburg area.
“After 11 years of doing business operations on a daily basis, sometimes you forget the small planning phases that are what built your business initially,” Roberts said. “Core Four helped me take my business back apart, re-evaluate the foundation, and set up a solid plan for our future, both short and long term.”
SKED offers many classes for small business owners throughout Eastern and Central Kentucky. “SKED has afforded us so many opportunities with business ownership I didn’t dream were possible,” said Roberts. “I encourage anyone interested in getting into small business ownership, or even interested in further developing what you have, to attend one of these classes.”
